Editorial Policy

PollenColor favors clear uncertainty over false precision. Pollen color guidance is presented as approximate and reviewed as source quality improves.

Review Process

New or revised records should preserve the distinction between representative visual guidance and measured scientific data.

Plant-specific claims should be supported by traceable sources. Unsupported claims should be omitted or written as broad context.

Uncertainty

Pollen appearance can vary with lighting, age, moisture, region, cultivar, collection method, and mixed pollen loads.

When confidence is limited, records use moderate or low confidence language and keep the guidance general.
